My 37 in 365 starts today. I brought my lunch and I need to take a picture. :) Not a bad start!
We went to visit with Grama after dance class last night and she was sleeping when we got there. We chatted with her for a couple seconds and then she was still groggy so we were just going to grab her laundry and head out. She perked up though so we got to hang out for a little bit. I was really pleased about that because I wussed out about going over on Sunday.

1st of good news!
So last night was a very normal Tuesday night for me. I teach dance from 6-9 almost every Tuesday and this Tuesday was no different. So mom and I headed to her house after work so she could change her clothes before heading to dance. While she changed, I asked my brother how his first day of his new job went. (well overall, coworkers are what really make it). She waltzed into the room with cell phone to ear saying congrats to someone on the phone and for some reason I got the feeling it was Brad. I had left my cell in the car so I had not recieved the text reading: "I just got some really bad news..............the Dean's scholarship I received along with acceptance to Capital Law is ONLY $10k. sucks right? :)"

That's right Law school. We have been being sly about it so we didn't have to tell a lot if it didn't work out. It's pretty much a for sure now though, as long as we can work out financial aid. He applied to 4 schools total and this is just the first we have heard from, so there is still some waiting to do....... but I'm soooooo happy for him!!!!!!!!

37 in 365
So I ran across this project that some people are doing call 101 in 1001. Basically you make a list of 101 goals that you want to complete in 1001 days (which works out to just under 2.75 years). I decided that being a newlywed my life would be changing to much in the near future for project that long. So I decided to do 37 goals in 365 days. I think it's a reasonable endevor. We'll see how it goes.
I decided to keep myself honest and accountable I would post and track it on here. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to list it down the side and update it regularly but for now.... here's my list in no particular order.

Spring
I got to wear a dress today, without a sweater. I'm so glad warm weather is really here, well minus the crazyness of Ohio weather. It's 72 now and going to be 40ish tomorrow.
This picture isn't me, but....
I'm currently going to physical therapy twice a week for my feet and left knee. My PT thinks that i may have a torn or frayed miniscus in my knee. We're working on strenghting my hips to help that. He's saying no surgery right now. :)
My feet have been kind of a mystery to everyone I have seen about them. I've seen multipule people over the last 10 years. They all have believed that my pain and issues were related to my plantar fascia (big tendon that supports your arch). My PT now, after consulting with a person that works with BalletMet, thinks that it has to do with the tendon and muscle that run under my big toe. I'm interested to learn more about this and have a laundry load of questions for him when I go for my PT session tonight. He thinks things can improve in the next 4ish weeks though, so thats great news.

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!!

Today is my birthday. Brad woke up and while I was in the shower, made me breakfast. It would have been nice to stay home today, especially with the weather, but alas..... Plus, if I would have stayed home today I wouldn't have gotten my Happy Birthday balloon from my office. :) I'm so easily entertained. I'm excited to go over to Mom and Dad's for my birthday dinner of Corned Beef and cabbage. !

He's excited about the show and really looking forward to seeing his kids achieve what they have been working so hard at. I'll be going to the show Saturday night, so if anyone would like to tag along, your more then welcome.

Grama shopping spree
Brad and I have been having a pretty low key couple of weeks other then youth group stuff. We had a chili cooking day with the HS kids for them to sell as a fundraiser before the Superbowl. They are raising funds to go to the National Cathedral in D.C. Brad is very excited to go because he has never been to the capitol. I'm excited for him to get to go also. I've been multiple times as my aunt and uncle live very close.
On to the headline topic. We've been running all around to get my 99 year old grama things that will better her life. She has to spend some money on herself or turn it over to the government. It's part of going on public assistance. So in the last few days she has gotten a new Lazy Boy lift chair, $650 worth of new clothes, a new floor lamp, and a Temprapedic pillow. She has other things ordered that have not come yet, such as a new 40 inch TV and stand for it to sit on, and a new wheelchair. I think that if she lives to figure out how to work all of her new things, they really will improve her quality of life. She gets so confused by new things though that right now the new things to make her life better are making it worse because she is confused and a little bit scared by/of them.
I don't want to live to be 100 years old. I don't think God made our bodies to last that long. Everyone who you grew up with is dead or in the same position that you are. Your family can't make you a priority and so you spend a lot of time alone unless you actively make friends in the building you live in. Your body falls apart and you can tell your mind isn't quite as sharp. And the importance you once gave to things like sex switch over to your daily BM. Who wants to focus that much on poop?
I know that she has experienced and been a part of soooooo many things. She's seen phones and TVs and cars become. First as a luxury and then as a necessity. She's seen radio's go from one person on the block having one to most people having one for every room. She remembers when wages were so low we couldn't even buy groceries for what they were paid. But then, in her life she's also seen refrigerators come into peoples homes so that they even can keep perishables in their houses. The things she has experienced in her life are amazing and humbling, but to feel the way she does now and to fret and worry and dispare..... I don't want that.
Ah, to leave on such a positive note. :)
