Thankful Thursdays!

I knew I was supposed to blog something, but for some reason I couldn't remember what it was. So here's my Thursday blog on Friday.

  • Erin's new Thankful Thursday picture. I like it better then the old one.
  • Brad being delighted and, I think, fulfilled with law school. I hope that he continues to be as happy as he seems to be right now.
  • Teaching dance. It's so wonderful to see a student improve and grow. It's frustrating but stunningly wonderful too. I love that I can give them obtainable goals and help them to feel competent in something that is describing their heritage. Helping them learn that hard work and dedication to dance will transfer to other parts of their lives is great too.
  • A clean house. I don't have anything close to that, but soon I will.
  • Kitty's that love you and want to cuddle, even if they prevent you from rolling over at night and sleeping like a normal person.

What are you thankful for?

Brad's first day!

Yesterday was Brad's first official day of Law school. He got up with me at 6am and got ready. He looked all dapper in his suit that he chose to wear for his first day. He was one of two that wore suits for the first day. He wore one again today. He wanted to make a good impression on his profs and meets two new ones today. So anyhow, he came home as excited as any kid on their first day of school. He had so much to talk about and tell us about. It was pretty funny. I'm so happy for him and glad that we are now "in it" instead or waiting for it to begin. Yeah Brad!!!!!

Thankful Thursday!

1. I'm thankful to be able to fit into my wedding dress a year and a little after it was originally worn. And to be able to take some sweeeet pictures!

2. I'm thankful that the beginning of Law School is almost here. Now we may be able to settle in a little.

3. I'm thankful that summer isn't quite over yet and we still get some of those summer storms.

4. I'm thankful that Erin and Jake aren't using their TV yet.

5. I'm thankful for music that can be found on the Internet so that I don't have to listen to whatever is being piped through the building at work.

6. Also, for kitty cat drinking fountains that will hopefully encourage our kitty's to drink more water.

What are you thankful for?

Trash the Dress!!!!!!!!

On Saturday Brad and I met with a photographer, Kama http://candidkama.blogspot.com/ , who is doing the pictures for Katy's wedding. We had scheduled a Trash the Dress session, which isn't exactly what it sounds like. Most people would see that and think that the dress would be ruined after a session like that. Actually, it just got a little bit dirtier then it was. But the session was SSSSSOOOOO much fun. Brad was in a few of the pictures but, unfortunately, it was crazy hot and he was a sweaty mess before too long. I love getting pro pictures done so this was amazing for me. Here are a couple that we got to see right away. We will get a CD with all the pictures taken in about a month. I can't wait to see all of them. Until then this is some of what we got.

Brad probably hates this one, but I LOVE it. He just looks so yummy. Mmmmmmm.

This is a great shot of my dress. I'm so glad I got more shots of that beautiful dress. After this I will only get to look at it in its little preservation box.

These three are exactly what I wanted and look like magazine shots to me, and I love them.

Thank you, Kama, for a great shoot and all of your laughter and fun while doing it. I love them!

Wedding Season

So can I just say how honored and excited I am to be in the upcoming two weddings! Katy's wedding is just days away. The dresses aren't nearly as bad as I dreaded they would be and I may just spray tan my way to looking acceptable in it. Katy has lent me the cutest pair of shoes to wear with it and I'm pumped. Now to just get it altered, which I'm going to my fitting tonight.

I just realized that I have two speeches to write in the near future. I better get cracking on the first. Both of these girls mean so much to me that the speeches will be easy to write. Hopefully I can get through saying them with as much grace and as little tears as possible. I've become a bit more of a sap since getting married myself, so we'll see.
Erin's wedding is a little further away (November). But closer by far then it was three weeks ago when the date of the wedding was in March. We place the order for our dresses today or Monday. I'm super excited about this dress because I got to pick what I wanted. It's beautful. I would have worn whatever she would have chosen for me because neither of these days are about me, but I'm very glad I got to pick it. This is the dress I'll be wearing for E's wedding.

Both weddings will be beautiful, I know because I'm in on the planning of both. That's what happens when your the MOH. I just can't wait to see these girls glow on their wedding day. Congrats my lovely ladies!

Thankful Thurdays!

It's Thurdays and my first thankful thing is that it is Thursday!

  • Beautiful days for outside lunch eating
  • Family eager to see us for the holidays
  • The internet
  • New shoes!
  • Professional photographers- oh how I love the difference between what comes out of my camera and what comes on a disk (edited) from them.
  • New planners and getting to start fresh in them

I think that's good for today. I hope everyone is having a good week and looking forward to the weekend. I have a few blogs in the works so stay tuned.

Thankful Thursdays!

Erin and a few other bloggers do these and since I'm trying to be a better blogger (aka post more often) I thought what better way to do so. I have some updates coming once I can have some quality time with our laptop, but that time isn't right now. So until then, Thankful Thursday.

  • My husband - he doesn't always understand me, but he does try to.
  • Friends that still feel close even if you only get to see them once a month.
  • Family- all of them
  • The Highway Patrol - for helping my brother when it's been such a long time since he's been in school.
  • Pets- even though they hide when you want them to come out and see people.

They aren't funny but truthful this week. We'll see what next week brings.

Blogger Awards

So because Erin over at Wedding Planning Memior tagged me in Honest Scrap I'll oblige cause she's so freaking awesome... and my sister and all.

1. I married my best friend from 5th through 8th grades older brother. never saw that coming back then.

2. I can't imagine living far from my family. Brad is pretty good at it. I think I would be devestated.

3. Brad and I have two cats. Neala (lovingly known as Meowla) and Mr. Giaus. He was just Gaius but over time the Mr. was added and now he's only plain Gaius when he's in trouble.

4. I have been married for 423 days.

5. My hair has become a bit of an obsession for me. Although I'm getting less obsessed I think. Erin thinks it's weird. But then she doesn't have curls.

6. I have a tattoo... Just 1 for now. My sister has one that matches... kinda. We got them 2 years apart and mine is on my left foot... Hers is on her right. So we make a pair. It's of the trinity knot or dancers knot. I love it.

7. I love pasta. Pasta and alfredo sauce.

8. I'm excited that Brad is going to Law School. I'm excited for him, but I'm excited for me too. I get to really have time to read again.

9. Every time I think I want to retire from actually dancing to just teaching, I have another show to dance at. I love it. After 18 years it's still one of my favortie things to do.

10. I need to keep a planner. I am the master at double booking myself. Ask any of my close friends.

So there you go... 10 random facts about me.
